The Main Event Netflix Film Review:Even though the feature reflects WWE’s core values built on family, teamwork and inspirational aspirations, and contains healthy messages about proving one’s mettle using wit and wisdom, “The Main Event” sags far too frequently.
WWE Studios has churned out a cage-rattling number of features since 2002 (right around 60), not all of them bad. But they didn’t seem to place much effort into this one. The filmmakers cast several comic performers — Adam Pally because the dad, Tichina Arnold because the grandmother, Ken Marino because the person — but there aren’t really opportunities for them to shine. Arnold seems to possess the foremost fun with it.
